We’re searching for a new Scout Leader

Date: 13th Jul 2026 Author: Mark Turner

If you’re someone who lights up when young people grow in confidence… If you love seeing a shy Scout suddenly take the lead… If you believe every young person deserves someone in their corner…

Then 1st Stokesley Scout Troop is looking for you.

We’re searching for a new Scout Leader — someone who enjoys encouraging, empowering, and celebrating young people as they flourish. You don’t need to be an expert, an adventurer, or a superhero. You just need to care.

What the role really looks like

Let’s bust the biggest myth straight away: Being a Scout Leader is not a time‑hungry, life‑consuming commitment. It’s a genuinely enjoyable pastime that fits around real life. A couple of hours a week, some laughter, some learning, and the joy of watching young people grow.

Safety first, adventure always

We do things safely, thoughtfully, and with proper risk management. Every activity — from fire-lighting to hiking — is planned so young people can stretch themselves, learn, and thrive in a safe environment.

You won’t do this alone

You’ll get:

  • Full training (short, friendly, and practical)
  • A supportive team who’ll guide you every step
  • Resources, planning tools, and a structure that makes leading sessions simple
  • A community that celebrates every win, big or small

Why it matters

Because young people remember the adults who believed in them. Because Scouts changes lives — and leaders make that possible. Because your encouragement today becomes their confidence tomorrow.

If you’re ready to make a difference, have fun, and help shape the next generation of Stokesley’s young people, we’d love to welcome you into the team.

Join us. Empower them. Watch them flourish.
