Scouts Navigation Evening 01/03/26

Our Scouts enjoyed a brilliant evening of independent navigation this week, setting off from Swainby and making their way via Potto using their own route plans, pacing, and teamwork to stay on track. Along the way they checked in at a series of Tyr Explorer safety points, who kept a quiet eye on progress while still giving the Scouts space to take the lead. A further task checkpoint, run by some of our older Scouts, added a fun challenge and a chance to practise problem‑solving under a bit of pressure.

It was exactly the kind of experience our older Scouts are hoping to build on as they prepare for a navigation event later in the year — real terrain, real decisions, and plenty of learning in between.

A big thank you to the parent helper who supported the evening. Everything ran smoothly, spirits were high, and the activity passed off without any issues at all.
